Application for: Jean-François L’Heureux
Please feel free to comment and interact with the applicant below.
Who? (Tell us about you. Your name, where you work, etc. Anything relevant to the Application.)
My name is Jean-François L’Heureux, but Jeff is easier to say. I am a French Canadian Sitecore enthusiast with 3 and a half years or experience with the platform. I am currently tech evangelist of the Coveo for Sitecore product. I learned and I am still actively learning Sitecore by doing. My field of expertise is search and indexes. First year Sitecore Technologist MVP, I strive to remain an MVP for many years to come.
Why Me? (Here is your chance to explain why people need to vote for you. What contributions have you made to help the community.)
From my first steps with Sitecore in 2014, the community has been very important. Through Stack Overflow questions, Twitter, blogs, and the Sitecore Basics Daily newsletter, I learned the basics and way more.
Early in 2015, I started giving back to the community by sharing on Twitter and answering Sitecore developers’ questions about Coveo for Sitecore.
In 2016, I started a personal blog to share my knowledge and experience with others. I was one of the first 20 people to join the Sitecore Slack community and I have been an active member since its inception. I joined Sitecore Stack Exchange on its first days, while still in the definition phase and I have participated actively since this day. I really like helping others by answering their questions.
In September 2016, I co-started the Sitecore User Group Quebec and organized 3 meetups so far.
In the last 2 years, I have participated to the Sitecore Hackathon and motivated people to participate as well. I have been to the SUGCON NA 2015 and the SUGCON EU 2017. I submitted talks to both SUGCON EU 2017 and Sitecore Symposium 2017. However, none of them was accepted. I will continue to submit talks to future events for sure.
More recently, I have started contributing to open source modules. My first accepted contribution is on the SIM Tool where I reported and fixed an issue with MongoDB databases names being reused when importing an instance. The code is in the QA version, waiting for the next official release. I also contributed to Habitat and Sitecore.Demo.Retail.
Bottom line, you should vote for me because I am an active community member who likes sharing its knowledge and helping others.
