Who? (Tell us about you. Your name, where you work, etc. Anything relevant to the Application.)

Rick Cabral, aka “Seargent Sitecore” works at “Genuine”. Been a Sitecore developer since 2005.

Why Me? (Here is your chance to explain why people need to vote for you. What contributions have you made to help the community.)

Over the last decade I helped spread the Sitecore good news to the greater Boston area, which has the largest concentration of Sitecore developers and Sitecore MVPs in the known universe. I also founded the (first?) and largest Sitecore user group in the world, which Sitecore used as a prototype for launching user groups in other communities.

While I’m not known for my code libraries or developer accelerator tools, I am known as the guy that cuts through the “cool shit” and concentrates on what will make a Sitecore installation successful. I have preached the fundamentals (workflow, good publishing, good caching, good information architecture, and good security design) to hundreds of people over the years, and have also gotten Sitecore development departments started or re-started in 6 different agencies. At the moment I am most active on stackexchange, where I try to provide clear and thorough answers to questions that are likely to get re-asked, or are likely asked by an inexperienced developer.
