The Sitecore Community has been growing every year at such an amazing rate. The people that make up this great community come from all walks of life. Now in its third year, the Core Community Friend award was established to recognize those who help make the Sitecore community a better place.
The following are some ideas we have about what makes someone a Core Community Friend. They do things such as:
- Share knowledge with the community through blogs, videos, and other mediums
- Organize/present at user groups and/or conferences
- Create, maintain, and share Sitecore modules or related open source projects on the Sitecore Marketplace or GitHub
- Active contributor on Sitecore.StackExchange.com or StackOverflow.com
- Active on social channels such Twitter, LinkedIn, Facebook Sitecore Groups & Slack
- Share your knowledge with the community
- and more..
This award is available to Sitecore employees, Sitecore MVPs, and Sitecore developers/marketers. What matters the most is how much you interact with and help the community. Through your participation the community is enriched with a unique and diverse perspective.
The election has three phases:
Application – CLOSED
During this phase we would encourage people to submit their application based on the predefined template. Following the Application phase, we will gather all the entries, create an election poll with links to individual application information links. Users can comment on individual Applications and provide feedback or have a dialogue with the applicant.
The Application process will be open until October 31st, 2019. Here are a list of applicants.
Who Can Apply?
Anyone who has been working with Sitecore can apply. There are no restrictions. You could be a Sitecore employee, Sitecore MVP or have been working with Sitecore.
*All applications will be posted to the site. The applications will be screened to meet the community requirements.
Election – SKIPPED
Once the site is updated with the Names and the application links, we will enable the Poll. At the end of the poll the results will be tallied and the top 50 results will be moved to the next Phase.
The voting platform chosen will allow for one vote per person. You are allowed to select more than one name for your vote. For example: you could choose five of the names on the list and cast your vote.
Voting ends November 15th 2019.
November 13th 2019 – Since we got 47 applicants, we are skipping this Election phase and moving on to Internal Election phase.
Internal Election – OPEN
This phase begins once the election is completed. The details will be revealed once the phase starts.
The final phase of this process, Phase 3 will start on November 22nd 2019. The details of this phase will be made public once the Internal Election is done. Thank you.
